Great goals! I'm working on reading to my kids more at night as well, with activities it can get so late! But it's also so important! :) Here are my goals for the week: http://womenwithintention.com/goals-week/
ReplyDeleteReading at night was a tradition that I grew up with. My dad read the Chronicles of Narnia Series almost every night. We are reading through Little House Series right now. Wednesdays are the only nights we often skip because it gets late when we get home from church. All other nights we read.
DeleteLove your goals. I want to start doing a weekly game night - sounds like it would be a fun tradition! I'm also working on having my daughter clean up her toys. :-) Not always easy, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI find even setting the timer for 5 minutes every night can make a difference. Sometimes I have them pick 3 things to pick up. Often it's stuffed animals, barbies and books. It usually doesn't take long when they all corporate.
DeleteWe love game night around here. I always try to add a few games to our stash at Christmas. Now that my kids are 7 & 8 there seems to be so much more to choose from. My 8 year-old fell in love with Taboo when we played it at my mom's after Thanksgiving dinner, so I'm going to track that one down for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteGame night is fun but very chaotic. Our 4 year old loves playing board games, the 3 year old will play for a few minutes, and the 2 year old is bouncing all over. I like that we make an effort now because it will be an established tradition by the time the kids get really involved in activities. I love that time because TV is off and phones are out of reach.
DeleteTaboo is one of my favorite games!
